Organic Products for Farms and Field Crops

The benefits of going green

Ohio Earth Food has been serving sustainable agriculture since 1972. We have been listening to the needs of natural and certified organic farmers and strive to offer the best and most affordable products available to help you with natural soil management.

Fostering nutrient-rich soil is the first step to producing healthy plants. Unlike conventional / synthetic products, organic fertilizers and other all natural amendments build up the long term health of your soil every year with an enriching complex of essential primary nutrients, trace minerals and organic matter easily assimilated by plants. The result of your healthier soil is healthier plants, healthier yields and healthier foods.

Certified organic farmers also enjoy healthier profits as they serve a rapidly growing market. Fostering nutrient-rich soil is a first step to producing a healthy crop. Nutritionally balanced soil will encourage healthy plant life and, over time, increase resistance to disease, insects and stress, as well as the elimination of harmful run-off.

Fully Composted Organic Fertilizers

Re-Vita Fertilizers (3-4-3, 5-4-5, 8-3-3, 2-3-16, and 5-4-3) are fully composted poultry manure – a six week process to heighten nutrient levels – with amendments added to reach guaranteed analysis, plus kelp seaweed and humates. Use only egg laying chicken manure high in calcium, 9% to 12%, to aid plant health.

Other organic fertilizers may use pasteurized poultry manure, vegetable meals, or sand based products. Manure is an excellent source of organic matter but can throw soils out of balance if used in excess. Fish Emulsion is high in nitrogen but lacks other key ingredients, better used in conjunction with more complete products.

Included in all Re-Vita fertilizers are organic humates mined from deep below the earths surface, humates exist in deposits on top of leonardite shale - highly concentrated organic matter rich in nutrients. Quality is measured in humic acid content and fulvic acid fraction.

Humic and fulvic acids have strong, hormone-like effective on plants and microbes – stimulating root development, nutrient uptake and chlorophyll production. Humates make soil "come alive" with abundant microbial activity – creating better soil tilth and freeing nutrients.

Available in liquid form, soluble powders and granular.

North Atlantic Kelp Seaweed

Also included in all Re-Vita fertilizers is high quality "Ascophyllum Nodosum" harvested from the maritime areas of Canada and Norway. It is a natural growth stimulant, promoting early root development, stronger plant health and higher brix levels. North Atlantic kelp seaweed delivers a complete array of micro nutrients, improving soil structure, aeration, water holding capacity and production of chlorophyll.

Available in meal form, liquid or soluble powders.

Ohio Earth Products are popular in the environmentally-friendly, economically-minded Amish and Mennonite communities.
